DIY Crowns

Today is raining and quite grey here in Helsinki, so perfect day for a DIY that I love and I want to share for you.
Normally I use these kind of accessories  for kids and families shootings, when I want to add a bit of color to the set or get a fun image.
These crowns, are just great, not to girly, not to boring, just fun and lovely!
We need to rescue few toilet paper rolls from the recycling bin, some white paper, paper tape, scissors, rubber band and glue.
First lets wrap the roll with white folio, so we will avoid any kind of see through text or images.
After been glued, we will choose our tapes to go on top, combine the designs and the colours to get nicer effects.
once is glued, draw on the top of it a line of triangles. Cut them off, and add the rubber band on the bottom of it.
Ready! I will love to see how your Crown looks like! send me some pictures of your creations!
See you very soon!

The Winter Garden beauty

Last week I paid a visit to the Winter Garden in Helsinki. There has been renovations during the winter, and was wrapped, so I was just curious to see how it was going to look now. I have been visiting every now and then during my years in Helsinki, doing photoshoots and visiting with family, and I recommend as a spot to keep in mind.

The building is just beautiful, just like the Botanic University Garden, that I photographed and presented on my blog some time ago.
I dedicated this blog to all you greens lovers, and the "viherpeukalo" people, Like Kerttu or Seija (living in Sweden), to encourage them to keep taking care of these beauties that brings so much joy to all of us.
Hope you like it!

Revive Finland

Last Tuesday I had the pleasure of participating and collaborate in a great project that is been rooted in Helsinki, aiming the progress and the cultural invest of a community in Colombia.
The project is called Revive Finland, a non-profit organisation brought alive by Hanna Rentola, Carolina Estrella and William Rivera.
This project has count with the great collaboration of  Eva and Manu, Tommy Lindgren, Emma Salokoski, guitarist Jarmo Saari, accordion player Niko Kumpuvaara , Felix Zenger  and the group Pop up. Giving a Concert at Nosturi, Helsinki to collect money for the cause.
Estacion Caribe is a group of young musicians who grew up in the middle of the violence in the heart of Moravia, a slum in MedellĂn, Colombia. They are a model of strength and joy, qualities needed to overcome the devastation left by the conflict. And is the roll model that Revive Finland wants to give to all the youngsters in Colombia. No violence, no drugs, only Music!
Great project, isn´t it?
